Would you like to be taught by Beethoven? How about Chopin? Maybe Liszt?
Let's face it... who wouldn't want to be trained by the greatest teachers that have ever lived. The innovation and brilliance that these men brought to musical composition will be long remembered. However, it is often forgotten that these men passed down to their students the knowledge that they possessed. And, over the years, those students began teaching to their students the artistic and physical techniques that masters such as Liszt and Chopin used. What a unique opportunity it would be then to learn from someone who has benefitted from that unique heritage. That was how I felt when I began studying under Daniel Nagy and his teacher, Daisy de Luca Jaffe. Daisy de Luca Jaffe was trained by Magda Tagliferro, who was trained by Alfred Cortot - all three of these are internationally recognized names. And, if you go back just a few more teachers, you will find names like Decombes, Czerny, Diemer, Beethoven, Liszt, and Chopin. I graduated with a bachelor of science in music education from Pensacola Christian College, having studied piano for four years. At the end of my studies I completed a teaching internship at Pensacola Christian Academy, where I got a great deal of teaching experience under the supervision of master teachers. Being appreciative of my teachers, I want to offer beginning, intermediate, and advanced students an opportunity to benefit in the way I did - to study under a teacher who has been influenced by a musical heritage of piano excellence. This is the opportunity offered; taking it changed my life. Taking it can change yours too. |
